Metal God Rob Halford is a Christmas NUT!
Rob Halford has been a name that I shouldn’t have to explain at this point. His work with Judas Priest alone gives his name a legacy in metal that can’t be one-uped by many others out there. He’s also known to be one of the nicest people in metal, and no where else does that side of him come out than in a recent interview he did on SiriusXM Volume’s “My First Time”. When talking with host Larry Flick, they both got into a conversation about a lot of different things, including talk about how his musical growth came outside of Judas Priest, but more importantly, his love of Christmas.
“They say Christmas is for kids, I say it’s for everybody” the metal god proclaims. “… I go crazy at Christmas, I mean… at my house in Phoenix I had like eight Christmas trees last year, so I have to (chuckles) go for ten (laughs).“ Hold up… EIGHT Christmas trees?? Okay, I love Christmas as much as the next guy, but do you know how long it takes to decorate just ONE!? Now you’re telling me this law breaking mofo puts up EIGHT and wants to upgrade to TEN!?!? That’s what I call dedication to the holidays. And he loves it! “My house is just like the- the big heavy metal fairy grandmother groto, you know (chuckles) it’s got everything in there!“ he laughs, “you can’t see the couch for glitter and tinsel and Christmas balls all over the place!”
That dude is insane! Not much more because I tried to decorate my girlfriend at the time’s couch with “Christmas balls” last year and that didn’t go so well when her parents got home before she did. Nonetheless, it’s November now, which means that we’re in the Christmas spirit apparently, so here’s to holiday cheers a week after Halloween!
