Portuguese band Spitgod release today their debut single "Black Wine Glass"
If what you desire is the heaviest and dirtiest sound, then you're asking for Spitgod.
Dating back to 2018, the band, whose formation includes well-known members of the Portuguese underground music scene from Porto and Vale do Sousa area, releases today its first single "Black Wine Glass".
Passing through venues such as Barracuda - Clube de Roque, Woodstock 69 and Maus Habitos - Espaco de Intervencao Cultural, Spitgod has consequently conquered a place of relevance within the public of extreme music in Portugal.
Their sound is characterized by instruments tuned in deep low tones, which contrast with vocals that extend between violent and harsh screams, to scratchy highs.
The mix of different influences, ranging from Sludge to Punk and Metal to Doom, combined with "mean riffs" and sudden rhythm and tempo changes, give this project an extraordinarily unique sound.
More; the slow, raw, and muddy moments combined with the fast and powerful ones provide the listener with a journey into the field of paradox and distinguish Spitgod uniquely in terms of its classification within the genre.
The single presented here is part of the band's upcoming debut album, scheduled for release in late September. This album was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Stone Sound Studio and will be released in Europe by the UK-based label Spectral Hound Records.
