Drift Into Black Are Wasting No Time To Release New Album
Spawned in 2017 as the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Craig Rossi, Drift Into Black pulls from many metal subgenres to create an ominous and dramatic sound. Now signed with Black Doomba Records, Rossi is ready to present the project's fourth release in as many years: Patterns of Light, due out in early 2021.
With Drift Into Black's debut EP Shadow People in 2017, it quickly became apparent that this would be a serious venture. The music took a darker turn in the fall of 2018 with the full-length Dead Suns Under the Forever Moon was released, a concept album about the downfalls of revenge.
The album garnered much attention from magazines and blogs, scoring high amongst reviewers. It also solidified Rossi’s choice of musical accompaniment with Klemen Markelj on drums and Paul LaPlaca on bass. Other guest musicians appeared on the album, including Rick Habeeb on additional guitars, Melissa Hancock on vocals, and Elizabeth Weaver on cello.
Wasting no time after Dead Suns, Rossi released Anthems from the Darkest Winter in fall 2019. A cover of Pink Floyd's "High Hopes," as well as the progressive death metal sound on original tracks "The Darkest Winter" and "Snowbound," helped the album generate close to 10,000 Spotify streams.
Now preparing to release the eight-song concept LP Patterns of Light with Black Doomba, Rossi is tirelessly promoting Drift Into Black's streaming sites and planning for live shows once the pandemic restrictions allow.
More information will be available soon
