IoMP 192: Metal YouTubers & Content Creators You NEED to Check Out!
Collin & Tom

The metal community has always been about more than just the music. It's about the people who share it, celebrate it, argue about it, and occasionally make complete fools of themselves in the process. And thanks to YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Instagram, there's an entire world of metal personalities helping keep that community alive.

This week on the Influencers of Metal Podcast, Collin and Tom are celebrating some of their favourite metal content creators, from the biggest names on the internet to smaller personalities deserving a little more attention!

Of course, you can't talk about Metal YouTube without bringing up Jared Dines, Stevie T and Nik Nocturnal. The guys revisit some of the videos that made these creators famous, from over-the-top guitar challenges and musical comedy to impressively fast guitar covers. They also discuss how these personalities have evolved over the years, including Jared Dines' Musician Mansion and Nik Nocturnal's growing presence in streaming and podcasting.

But the metal internet is much bigger than just a handful of famous guitarists!

Our favourite duo also shine the spotlight on creators like Bradley Hall, Glenn Fricker of Spectre Sound Studios, Trey Xavier, SunfyreTV, Sammy Slam Dance and Opal In Sky, highlighting everything from music production advice and songwriting education to ridiculous skits and creative metal covers.

The conversation also gets personal as the guys celebrate creators who've become friends of the podcast, including Chris Thrash of Thrashed TV, Black Metal Werewolf, The Blyzzrd, OdinConquersAll and Val of Vigorously With Val. These creators aren't just entertaining audiences. They're introducing people to new bands, supporting their local scenes and making metal feel like a welcoming community.

And naturally, things don't stay completely wholesome.

There's a debate about Metal YouTube's past, a few questionable internet personalities, an unexpected amount of Canadian patriotism, and Collin's ongoing outrage over Nik Nocturnal leaving Canada. Apparently, moving to Florida is now a matter of national importance.

Ultimately, this episode is about giving credit to the people who make the online metal scene special, whether they have millions of followers or are still building their audiences one video at a time.

Looking for your next favourite metal YouTuber, some new bands to discover, or just 45 minutes of metalhead nonsense?

Hit play and join Collin and Tom as they celebrate the creators who make metal's online community one big, wonderfully dysfunctional family!
