IoMP 189: What Is The Most Metal Guitar Hero Game? Part 11
Collin & Tom

Eleven games in. Countless guitar solos. One ultimate question: Which Guitar Hero game is the most metal?

The Influencers of Metal Podcast is approaching the finish line of its epic Guitar Hero ranking series, and this time, Collin and Tom are taking on one of the franchise's most ambitious entries: Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock!

Released in 2010, Warriors of Rock brought an impressive collection of hard rock and heavy metal to living rooms everywhere. But just how heavy was its soundtrack compared to the games that came before it?

From the long-overdue inclusion of Avenged Sevenfold's "Bat Country" to the blistering thrash of Megadeth's "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due" and Slayer's "Chemical Warfare," there's plenty for metalheads to sink their teeth into.

The guys also explore the game's impressive range of metal subgenres, including melodic death metal from Arch Enemy and Children of Bodom, power metal from DragonForce, industrial metal from Rammstein, and the glorious brutality of Dethklok.

And that's before getting into the downloadable content!

Along the way, the duo revisit their own Guitar Hero memories, discuss the songs that introduced them to new bands, question some surprisingly late additions to the franchise, and naturally get distracted by everything from video game microtransactions to the unexpected musical pairings of metal musicians.

But the real question is where Warriors of Rock belongs in the rankings.

For much of this series, Guitar Hero: Metallica has been the game to beat. With such an impressive combination of heavy-hitting artists, iconic songs, and musical variety, could Warriors of Rock finally challenge the reigning champion?

Or will the crown remain exactly where it is?

With just one mainline game left to examine, every position matters!

Click play and join Collin and Tom as they put Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock to the ultimate metal test!
