Death On Fire release video for "Architects"

The Chicago death metal band Death on Fire have teamed up with Sleeping Village Reviews to unleash a video for their crushing new single “Architects”. The song is taken from their upcoming album Ghost Songs. The best way I can describe this band (based on the song in question) is not only heavy head-banging riffs, but also (in a good way) baby’s first death metal band. I say that as a compliment, a lot of death metal, especially in the underground, can be considered too harsh for some listeners or too inaudible for others, and that’s including some of the greats! With Death On Fire however, these guys take on the modern death metal sound and through their experience on the road and through their study of music.

Death On Fire is a band that has dedicated themselves to the underground, but has made their sound very approachable for new death metal listeners. A good comparison (if I may piss some of y’all off), they’re like the Avenged Sevenfold of death metal, they’re a great gateway into the heavier and dirtier stuff. But while A7X is debated on whether or not they fall into the metal genre anymore, Death On Fire has made no mistake in making their styles and influences known. Be warned, they ARE death metal through and through, but much like Canadian death metal band Kataklysm, you can approach their music as a beginner to the genre and use them to get into some of the dirtier stuff like Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, maybe even Dying Fetus.

A dedicated group of individuals, they’ve spent their time touring, playing shows and making a name for themselves as a force to be reckoned with, and have even gotten their nods of approval from the big boys who’ve given open slots to them, such as Obituary, Phil Anselmo (yes, the ‘white power’ guy from Pantera), and plenty of others. Their new album Ghost Songs is set to release March 20th of 2020. You can check out the video for their song “Architects” here.
